Inhumane Animal Treatment
Chicago residents are encouraged to report cases of animal mistreatment. This includes neglect of any kind (i.e., animals without food, water, proper shelter or veterinary care), leaving unwanted animals in a motor vehicle or house, training animals to fight, and abandoned animals on a public way.
When reporting inhumane treatment, be prepared to identify the location where it is occuring, and what type of inhumane treatment has been observed.
The Department on Animal Care and Control responds to and investigates claims of inhumane animal treatment in the City of Chicago.
