South DuSable Lake Shore Drive Pavement Repairs - Traffic Updates
The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), as part of the 2023 Arterial Resurfacing Program, will be conducting joint repairs and pavement patching on South DuSable Lake Shore Drive between 31st Street to 57th Drive. Pre-staging work will begin on Friday, September 8 with repair work scheduled to begin on Monday, September 11. The project is expected to last six weeks.
9.11.2023 Traffic Update:
The work scheduled for Monday, September 11, is postponed due to weather. No closures will be in place. The project schedule will begin as follows:
Beginning Tuesday, September 12th and lasting for approximately three weeks, southbound DLSD will be reduced to two lanes. During weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Southbound DLSD will be reduced to one lane.
Work is anticipated to transition to northbound lanes on Monday, October 9 and last for approximately three weeks.
CDOT advises drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time when traveling, to take alternate routes if possible, and encourages people to use public transportation. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and construction signage when entering and driving near work zones, obey the posted speed limits, drive with extra caution, and be alert for workers and equipment.
