Tobacco Prevention

CDPH is committed to reducing tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke, and eliminating disparities related to tobacco-related disease.

Our tobacco control efforts focus on four main goals:

  • Preventing young people from starting to use tobacco
  • Helping people to quit smoking
  • Protecting people from secondhand smoke exposure
  • Eliminating disparities related to tobacco use and its effects among different population groups

We work on a number of strategies to ensure that the places where we live, learn, work and play support tobacco-free living.
