The bureau is responsible for the operation of all City-owned facilities including on-going maintenance and repairs as well as property management services. Responsibilities include building oversight; maintenance and operation of heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical, fire - life safety systems; masonry, carpentry, glazing and painting services; custodial and landscaping services; waste and recycling management; and snow removal on sidewalks and in parking lots. The bureau manages building security through a combination of City watchmen, contracted security services, and alarm systems. Additionally, the bureau provides mailroom services and relocation services throughout the City.
