Pre-Law Volunteer Program
The Department of Law is interested in highly qualified high school or college students or graduates to participate in our Pre-Law Volunteer Program. This program is designed to provide participants with a challenging, un-paid externship that reflects the demands and rewards of public service. The Law Department will select well-rounded applicants who have exhibited academic excellence and an interest in public service. Participants in the program are not compensated by the City of Chicago.
Typically, the participants will be assigned to one of the practice divisions within the law department. The participant will be assigned a supervisor/mentor who will coordinate the assignments given to the participant. Together, the chosen participant and the supervisor will determine the start date and the date in which the program will end for the individual.
In order to begin the application process, please submit the following materials.
Please Note: Failure to submit all materials may result in your application not being considered.
