The Office of Inspector General (OIG) hires positions directly, not through the Department of Human Resources. This was established under a court order in the federal case Shakman  v. City of Chicago, which states: "Hiring Procedures are intended to provide the Office of the Inspector General with a method of hiring employees that maximizes the independence of the Inspector General's Office and helps to ensure that its employees are nonpartisan and free from conflicts of interest."

The OIG always welcomes resumes from experienced, qualified individuals. If you are interested in a career with the us, further information can be found on the OIG website in the "Career Opportunities" section.
