Mayor Richard M. Daley celebrated the holiday season at La Rabida Children’s Hospital with patients, their families and staff members. Each year Mayor Daley makes an effort to join officials at La Rabida to thank them for providing the vital services to children and encourage others to donate their time and energy to assist those who are in need this holiday season.
“La Rabida Children’s Hospital has a long history of volunteers and donors who support the hospital and its mission to maintain an ongoing commitment to caring for children and families regardless of their ability to pay,” said Mayor Daley at La Rabida Hospital, 6501 South Promontory Drive.
La Rabida Children's Hospital has been helping children with chronic illnesses, severe disabilities or who have been abused for more 100 years. It’s an institution with a long history of volunteers and donors who support the hospital and its mission of maintaining a strong commitment to caring for children and families regardless of their ability to pay.
La Rabida has the nation’s top professionals who provide treatment of lifelong medical conditions. It is one of Illinois’ most extensive hospital-based programs for child abuse and trauma as serves as a role model for other health care institutions across the United States.
La Rabida Children's Hospital is a non-profit organization and appreciates every single donor, regardless of their donation amount. Since 1896, no child has been turned away due to a family's inability to pay.
“The holiday season is a time to reflect and renew our obligation to helping the residents of Chicago who need it the most, our children, our senior citizens and others who may not have the resources needed to have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,” added the Mayor.
