Mayor Daley Celebrates Halloween At Franken Plaza

Mayor Richard M. Daley joins Chicago residents to celebrate Halloween as Daley Plaza becomes FRANKEN PLAZA October 29-31, with special performances, arts and crafts, fire dancers, and prizes. 
“During these tough economic times we remain more committed than ever to our goal of making Chicago a place where people want to live work and raise a family,” Mayor Daley. And these types of activities offer families an opportunity to come together to enjoy entertainment, food and fun.”
Residents can take part in the Monster Bash complete with a costume contest and treats. Special activities planned are the not so scary-scary stories by Oba William King, the poetic storyteller; Moment of Magic & Wonder with Magic Matt – showtime is 2:25p.m.; Radio Disney’s AM 1300 Road Crew will have games, music and fun prizes. Also catch Coraline, the movie, at 5:45p.m. (rated PG).
Thirteen performers from Chicago's very own Midnight Circus perform at the 13th annual Chicagoween celebration. Watch as Midnight Circusdefies gravity and amazes audiences of all ages with heart-stopping feats of acrobatics & spooktacular theatrics! Midnight Circus performs Saturday and Sunday performances are 11:30a.m., 1:30p.m., 3:30p.m. with an added performance on Sunday at 6:30p.m. And don’t miss Pyrotechniq, our fire dancers who will perform at 7:30p.m. each night. Their Saturday show features Dahui Drumming Circle. 
More fun continues Sunday for it is Halloween! For Children, By Children is a children’s educational theatre company that is performed by students for students of all ages, they will dance to Thriller at 4:45p.m. on Sunday. Learn to dance like a zombie at 5:00p.m. to Michaels Jackson’s Thriller video, courtesy of the Chicago Dance Institute.
