Join the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities Employment Services Unit Social Security Work Incentive Planning & Assistance Project (WIPA) & Program Partners 18th Annual Youth/Young Adults with Disabilities Event.

Date: Saturday March 23, 2019 – 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

This event is FREE NO COST!

This event’s purpose is to assist parents, guardians, & SSA Rep-Payee of Youth and Young  Adults, as well as SSA recipients,  navigate education, job training & placement services.

Service Providers Organizations are invited to collaborate with us as we support Youth and Young adults transition to adulthood with:

  • Job training and placement services
  • Post-secondary education planning
  • Employment options
  • SSI SSDI benefit counseling
  • and more

The Program Partners listed below will provide resources:

  • Vocational Rehabilitation Services  
  • Social Security Protection & Advocacy services
  • City Colleges of Chicago
  • CPS Office of  Diverse Learners
  • Workforce Centers Employers &
  • Family Support Services (One Summer Chicago)

DIRECTIONS TO MOPD – 2102 West Ogden, Central West Field Office:

MOPD is located between Polk and Taylor Streets.  It’s two blocks west of Damen Avenue, and one-half mile north of Roosevelt Road (Ogden Avenue runs on diagonally in this area, Northeast to Southwest). 

 The Field Office is a one-story brick/stone building on the west side of Ogden, across from the Veteran’s Medical Center Administration Building.

There is free parking adjacent to the building, but space is limited.  A Visitor’s Pass MUST be obtained at the front desk and displayed in your vehicle.

CTA Trains:  The Blue/Pink Lines (54/Cermak) have an Accessible stop at Polk Street, in the Rush-St. Luke’s UIC Medical complex.  It is approximately a five-block walk WEST to Polk.  The Field Office will be on the left. 

CTA Buses:  The Damen bus (#50) runs on Saturday and stops at Polk Street.  Specific scheduling can be found online at transitchicago.com.
