OEMC Reminds Chicagoans of Traffic Impacts and Security Measures in Place for Multi-Platinum Artist Ariana Grande Concerts at United Center Tomorrow, June 4 & Wednesday, June 5

June 3, 2019

The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) is advising concert-goers, motorists and residents to be aware of safety measures in place and anticipated traffic impacts for Ariana Grande’s “The Sweetener Tour” concerts at the United Center on Tuesday, June 4 and Wednesday, June 5. The concerts begin at 8 pm and gates open at 6:30 pm.

The concerts are the rescheduled dates for the April 7 and 8 shows, which were moved due to conflicts with Grande’s schedule. Special guests include Normani and Social House.

In order to provide the smoothest entry and safest experience for everyone in attendance, the United Center has announced the following bag policy specifically the Ariana Grande concerts.

Bag Policy:

  • Each fan may carry one bag
  • All bags must be clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  •  An exception will be made for medically necessary items after thorough proper inspection at a gate designated for this purpose

In addition, cameras and recording devices are prohibited; however, cell phones with cameras are permitted.

As always, OEMC will monitor the event and weather conditions. Traffic control aides are assigned to facilitate traffic.
