OEMC’S Ruben Madrigal honored with ‘DECADE OF CONNECTIVITY’ award

Industry Award Only Given to Seven Service Providers from Around the World

The Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications (OEMC) proudly announces Ruben Madrigal, Managing Deputy Director of Public Safety Technology, has been honored with the Decade of Connectivity Award from Cambium Networks for his work on behalf of the City of Chicago to deploy city-wide public safety video cameras with wireless communication infrastructure.

“We salute Ruben for his passion and dedication to providing quality technology for our first responders and infrastructure departments,” said OEMC Executive Director Rich Guidice. “Under Ruben’s leadership, our Public Safety Technology team works tirelessly to integrate cutting-edge tools and apparatuses to help support the City’s public safety personnel and ensure the safety and security of the people who live, work and visit Chicago.”

Cambium Networks provides a suite of wireless connectivity solutions for the City of Chicago’s Public Safety Technology team. Earlier this year, nominations were sought by Cambium Networks to spotlight service providers whose networks drive change in their communities.

Winners were recognized across the globe, with the City of Chicago’s OEMC/Madrigal garnering one of the two North America Region Awards. Moving forward, each of the winners will develop case studies to share the network details and learn best practices from these experts.

Madrigal is a lifelong Chicagoan who resides in the Bridgeport community on Chicago’s near south side. He and his wife are the proud parents of four adult children.
