Ridge Avenue Closed For Water Main Work
Ridge Ave. Will be Closed From Clark St. to Broadway Starting Monday July 11th.
The Chicago Department of Water Management (DWM) will be replacing the water main in Ridge Avenue that dates back to 1890 prior to street resurfacing.
The work will involve full lane closures westbound on Ridge from Broadway to Clark, and on Hollywood from Broadway west to Ridge.
There will be one lane open eastbound for emergency vehicles, CTA eastbound buses, and construction vehicles only. No through traffic will be permitted.
All westbound CTA buses will be detoured from the Bryn Mawr station to Broadway, south on Broadway to Foster, west on Foster to Ashland, north on Ashland to Peterson, then west on Peterson on their regular routes.
Suggested alternate routes for east west traffic are Devon, Lawrence, Montrose, Irving Park, and Diversey. Alternates for north south traffic are the Edens to the Dan Ryan, Cicero, Lincoln, Western, Ashland, and Lake Shore Drive to Sheridan Rd.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by late August.
