CDOT is partnering with the 26th Ward on proposed Complete Streets safety improvements for Division Street between Central Park Avenue and California Avenue through Humboldt Park.

Proposed improvements include:

• Right-sized travel lanes to encourage safer and more appropriate travel speeds
• Shorter pedestrian crossings and increased visibility for people crossing Division Street with refuge islands and curb extensions.
• New crosswalks through Humboldt Park to provide better access to Humboldt Park.
• Concrete protected bike lanes to separate people biking from people driving and increase the safety of everyone on the street
• Upgraded CTA bus stops to help improve bus operations and provide more space for transit users.
• Better organization of the street by clearly delineating space for all users of the street.
