Members of the Chicago Department of Public Health appeared at the Bud Billiken Parade on Saturday, August 14, to encourage more Chicagoans to join Vax-Chi-Nation, a movement to spread the word about where to find a vaccine and get Chicagoans fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To date, more than 1.6 million Chicagoans ages 12 and over have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Supported by the City of Chicago, Vax-Chi-Nation is comprised of vaccine information ambassadors, community canvassers and others who have joined efforts to educate their fellow Chicagoans about the importance of protecting the city, their loved ones, and each other from the impact of the coronavirus.

As cases of COVID-19 continue to rise across the country – the Delta variant is more contagious and easily transmissible – it’s more important than ever to practice behavior to keep us safe. Getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and those around you from COVID-19 and its variants.
