City of Chicago Pilot Procurements

Pursuant to section 2-92-640 of the Municipal Code of Chicago, the Chief Procurement Officer is authorized to implement pilot procurement programs. These programs must be provided at no cost to the City, be competitive, and in the best interest of the City.

The City invites any vendor interested in providing the City with a no-cost pilot program to submit a proposal. To be considered, vendors should submit a proposal at least thirty (30) business days prior to the date that any testing or trials need to begin. Proposals will be reviewed by the Department of Procurement Services on a rolling basis. Please note submitting a proposal does not guarantee the Department of Procurement Services will contact any vendors regarding the proposed pilots or that an agreement will ultimately be entered for the proposed pilot.

If the Chief Procurement Officer determines it is in the best interest of the City to pursue a proposed program, the City will reach out to the individual listed on proposal to enter an agreement with the City. If an agreement is ultimately entered, the City will be under no obligation to purchase, order, or otherwise procure the product or service.
