CDPH Provides Protect Chicago 77 Update

76.3 % of Chicagoans 12+ have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

CHICAGO – The Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) today reported progress toward the goal of having at least 77 percent of all Chicago residents ages 12 and up starting their COVID-19 vaccination series by the end of the year as part of Protect Chicago 77

 

According to the data reported through November 13, more than 1.7 million – or 76.3 percent – of Chicagoans age 12 and up have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Over the past week:

  • Rogers Park and Edgewater reached 77% in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+)
  • Brighton Park, Lake View, Near West Side and Uptown reached 80% in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+)
  • Burnside, Clearing, and Kenwood reached 70% in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+)
  • Washington Heights reached 60% in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+)
  • Burnside had the biggest increase in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+) since last week

 

Protect Chicago 77 is designed to engage people in all of the city’s 77 designated community areas to get vaccinated and encourage others to do so. All Chicagoans are encouraged to take the Protect Chicago 77 pledge, promising to do their part to Protect Chicago and help the city recover from the pandemic. 

 

COVID-19 vaccines are widely available at pharmacies, health care facilities, and through special events across the city at no cost to the public. Through CDPH’s Protect Chicago At Home program, anyone age 5 and over can receive a vaccination in their home. Additionally, CDPH has set up family vaccination clinics at City Colleges of Chicago, offering pediatric COVID-19 Pfizer vaccines, as well as Pfizer and Johnson & Johnson primary and booster doses to all Chicagoans.
