United States and Illinois flags at half-staff until Sunset, Wednesday, April 17, 2013

The Department of Central Management Services has received notice from
Governor Quinn’s Office that all persons or entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act are to fly the flags at half-staff in honor and remembrance of:

Anne Smedinghoff
Hometown:  River Forest, Illinois

Anne Smedinghoff a State Department officer was killed this month in Afghanistan. She died in a car-bomb attack on April 6 while delivering books to a school in Zabul Province.

Ms. Smedinghoff, 25, had served as Secretary of State, John Kerry's escort officer during his March trip to Kabul.
