DFSS seeks qualified and interested applicants for the Comprehensive Fitness Program for Older Adults RFP. We seek fitness organizations interested in providing fitness services to older adults, aged 55 and older, at our network of 21 city-wide senior centers (consisting of six regional senior centers and 15 satellite senior centers) and 19 community site locations, in addition to online and telephonic program offerings.

The goals of the Comprehensive Fitness Program for Older Adults RFP are to assist older adults to:

• Increase fitness/health awareness
• Increase self-determination in managing their health
• Increase positive health behaviors

In 2020, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, 6,645 unduplicated older adults participated in fitness services. In 2021 and beyond, the Comprehensive Fitness Program has an opportunity for program expansion. The selected Respondent is expected to assist with outreach efforts to increase the number of older adults accessing services (e.g., reaching out to past participants with information about upcoming programs and promoting programming during lunch at the senior centers and through social media platforms).

DFSS anticipates funding one organization through this RFP. We anticipate that this award will be up to $600,025 to provide services to 40 unique site locations throughout Chicago. This contract will operate on a reimbursement basis only. No advances will be given.

A note about the City’s eProcurement System:

For those who have not done business with the City of Chicago before, registration in iSupplier is the first step to ensuring your agency’s ability to conduct business with the City of Chicago and DFSS. Please allow five to seven days for your registration to be processed.

Current contractors need only to start an application via their existing iSupplier/eProcurement account. 

All vendors must have a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and an IRS W9 for registration and confirmation of vendor business information.

Proposals must be submitted via on-line application.

E-mailed or faxed proposals will not be accepted.

A Pre-Proposal Webinar will be held on September 2, 2021, 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Attendance is not mandatory but is advised.
