Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot Now Fully Enrolled
All 5,000 households have received at least their first $500 direct cash payment. A participant demographics report, plus profiles of two participants, were published on the CRCP website today.

Households will receive $500 cash payments every month for the next 12 months via direct deposit into their bank account or through a prepaid debit card. DFSS and GiveDirectly are finalizing enrollment and first payments for the remaining 1,500 households.

Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot Receives over 176,000 Applications
Applications were received from all 77 community areas, with at least 300 applications received from each ward. Participant selection starts this month.

The Chicago Resilient Communities Pilot, which will provide $500 per month to 5,000 income-qualifying Chicago residents, will accept applications to enter the lottery between Monday, April 25 at 9:00 am and Friday, May 13 at 11:59 pm.

On the second anniversary of the Mayor’s Solutions Towards Ending Poverty (STEP) summit, Mayor Lightfoot, City and community leaders announced three cash assistance funds that will benefit over 30,000 low-income Chicagoans disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
