Auburn Gresham Corridor Streetscape Improvements
CDOT streetscape improvement projects consist of infrastructure, pedestrian safety, and placemaking improvements with the goal of creating unified, safe, walkable, and attractive commercial destinations. Streetscape projects foster community and economic growth by prioritizing investments in pedestrian activity, multi-modal transportation, vibrant public spaces, and quality-of-life amenities for local residents.
The project will refresh and upgrade the previously installed streetscape on 79th Street and extend the improvements onto Halsted. Design features were developed to follow the themes of the previously installed streetscape – the Andikra symbols for the Power of Love, Humility and Strength, Friendship and Interdependence, and Welcome.
