People Places transform streets and alleys into public spaces for pedestrian use through temporary tactical urbanism.  The Chicago Department of Transportation works closely with community partners on proposed street and alley closures to promote active community spaces that highlight community-focused placemaking, support community identity, and provide opportunities for public enjoyment.
