Lincoln Avenue Streetscape and Ainslie Arts Plaza
CDOT streetscape improvement projects consist of infrastructure, pedestrian safety, and placemaking improvements with the goal of creating unified, safe, walkable, and attractive commercial destinations. Streetscape projects foster community and economic growth by prioritizing investments in pedestrian activity, multi-modal transportation, vibrant public spaces, and quality-of-life amenities for local residents.
CDOT is conducting a streetscape improvement project along Lincoln Avenue from Western Avenue to Catalpa Avenue, including Catalpa Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Western Avenue. The project builds off the 2019 Lincoln Square Master Plan and supports community plans to create the Lincoln Avenue North Arts (LANA) District in the area.
This targeted investment aims to bring the vitality and pedestrian activity on Lincoln Ave south of Lawrence to Lincoln Ave north of Lawrence. It will provide needed investment in infrastructure, multi-modal, pedestrian safety, and placemaking improvements to support the revitalization of the Lincoln Avenue.
