The City of Chicago is currently in Phase Four: "Gradually Resume." Many City services have adjusted hours or locations and may require health screens prior to entering their physical spaces. Please call ahead or visit any department's website to get additional details, or visit chicago.gov/covid-19.
Over the last ten years, Chicago has made tremendous improvements in pedestrian safety; yet even one pedestrian fatality is too many.
The Chicago Pedestrian Plan, released in September 2012, is guide to the tools, policies and programs to make Chicago the safest city in the country for pedestrians.
The plan is the result of a year-long effort by CDOT, the Mayor's Pedestrian Advisory Council and Chicagoans from every neighborhood, who came together in a series of public meetings to develop a plan of action.
