Divvy and T-Mobile are reminding the public that there is one more chance to take advantage of free rides on the Divvy bike share system this Saturday, September 19th, on the last Saturday of Summer 2015. Thousands of people took advantage of the free ride offer on the first two Saturdays that it was available in the month of September.

Once again, Divvy will be boosting its Valet Service on those days to accommodate the expected increase in ridership, with ambassadors available at popular, high volume stations. Valet Service is designed to guarantee dock space for bikes, even at the busiest stations, and to help riders learn about the bike share system.

Divvy also announced that it will be offering Special Divvy Valet Service for the Bears’ home game on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Museum Campus Divvy station near Soldier Field.

The Divvy program, operated by Motivate (http://www.motivateco.com) on behalf of the Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT), consists of a fleet of more than 4,700 specially designed, heavy-duty, highly durable bikes that are locked into a network of docking stations located throughout Chicago.

“If you have never tried Divvy before, we want Chicagoans to know, there is one more opportunity to test it out for 24-hours at no charge,” CDOT Commissioner Rebekah Scheinfeld said. “Whether you live in Chicago or are a visitor, Divvy allows you to explore the City’s neighborhoods, parks and lakefront in a fun, healthy way.”

Taking advantage of the promotion is easy. On Sept.19th, riders can walk up to any Divvy station, select “Get a Bike” and follow the prompts on the screen. The 24-Hour Pass, regularly $9.95, will be available at no charge, thanks to T-Mobile. A credit or debit card is required as usage fees still will apply to all trips over 30 minutes. Riders can choose to take multiple rides during the 24-hour period by going to the kiosk and selecting “Request a New Ride Code”.

For video instructions on how to access the free rides, Chicagoans and visitors can go to www.DivvyBikes.com/video.

For more details about the promotional offer, you can also visit www.DivvyBikes.com/freeride.

Valet Service will be offered at the following stations between noon and 6 p.m. on each Saturday:

• Millennium Park

• Theater on the Lake • Lake Shore Drive & Monroe St. • Lake Shore Drive & North Ave.

• Michigan Ave. & Oak St.

• Montrose Harbor

• Shedd Aquarium • Indiana Ave. & Roosevelt Road

• Clark St. & Armitage Ave.

• Buckingham Fountain

Valet service will be offered from 12 noon to 8 p.m. at the following location:

• Streeter Drive & Illinois St.

Station locations and real-time bike and dock availability can be viewed at www.DivvyBikes.com/stations or by downloading the free “CycleFinder” app for iPhone or Android devices.

Additionally, Divvy is offering an “End of Summer” promotion for annual memberships, in which new members who sign up in September will receive a thirteenth month free for the regular price of $75. Chicagoans can sign up within minutes at www.DivvyBikes.com/membership and will be mailed a key fob that can unlock a bike at any station across the city. The key entitles members to take as many 30-minute trips throughout the year as they want. Trips over 30 minutes incur incremental usage fees, which can be found on the Divvy website.

Divvy has added 175 new stations this year and is now the largest bike share system in North America based on the number of stations and the size of our service area in North America, thanks in part to the support and sponsorship of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois.
