Naked Juice Kicks Off “DIVVY Week” With Free Rides On Earth Day

April 18, 2016

Divvy to offer unlimited 30-minute bike rides sponsored by Naked Juice on Friday, April 22

CHICAGO, IL (April 18, 2016) – To celebrate Earth Day, Naked Juice is teaming up with Chicago bike share system Divvy to sponsor free rides on Friday, April 22. The partnership marks the start of the City of Chicago’s annual “Divvy Week”, which offers discounts, special promotions, contests and giveaways for Divvy riders and all Chicagoans.

Both Naked and Divvy are brands with strong ties to environmental sustainability, and the partnership between the two reinforces those efforts.

Naked makes fruit and vegetable juice smoothies that are not only good for you, but good for the planet too, using a 100% rPET (recyclable polyethylene terephthalate) bottle that can be recycled into new bottles again and again. Divvy, owned by the Chicago Department of Transportation (CD0T) and operated by Motivate International, Inc., provides an alternate transportation mode that is environmentally sustainable. In 2015, Divvy riders contributed to an estimated 4.3 million pounds of carbon offset, producing nearly 10 million pounds of carbon offset since the bike share system’s inception in 2013.

To take advantage of the free Divvy rides promotion, Chicagoans can sign up for a 24-hour pass, regularly $9.95, at any Divvy station kiosk on Friday, April 22 at no cost. Riders will receive unlimited 30-minute trips throughout the day, but will be charged extra for trips longer than 30 minutes.

“As a brand, we know a healthy body doesn’t mean much without a healthy world to live in and work to make sure that all products are not just good for you, but good for the planet too,” said Andrea Theodore, Head of Marketing at Naked Emerging Brands. “At Naked, we’re looking for ways to innovate – from new juice and smoothie offerings, to creative ways to connect with the community. The Divvy Earth Day partnership is a perfect example of that.”

“We’re thrilled to partner with Naked Juice to celebrate Earth Day and kick off our annual ‘Divvy Week’,” said Elliot Greenberger, General Manager of Divvy. “Divvy is about more than just biking; it’s about connecting a community and providing efficient, affordable, easy and fun transportation to the city of Chicago. We hope this partnership with Naked Juice gets more people riding around the city as we head into warmer weather.”

Naked Juice will also be sampling their juices during the Free Ride Day at the Clinton St & Madison Ave Divvy Station from 8:30am to 9:30am, and at the Michigan Ave & Lake St Divvy Station from 11am – 1:30pm.

In addition to the Free Ride Day and sampling, other special promotions are planned for Divvy Week, with something for everyone!
