City Council Ethics Committee Passes Lobbyist Restrictions

On December 4, 2019, the City Council’s Committee on Ethics and Government Oversight unanimously passed O2019-8541, which prohibits City elected officials and employees from lobbying on behalf of private clients in any government unit in the State of Illinois, and prohibits elected officials anywhere in the State of Illinois from lobbying on behalf of private clients in the City of Chicago.
