Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot is pleased to announce new and reimagined air show events in August in place of this year's Chicago Air and Water Show. City of Chicago presents the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will be a special solo demonstration by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels along the lakefront on August 21 & 22 from 12–1pm. (On August 20, practice runs from 10am–2pm.) The best viewing locations along the lakefront are between Oak Street and Fullerton Avenue. The mission of the Blue Angels is to showcase the teamwork and professionalism of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps through flight demonstrations and community outreach while inspiring a culture of excellence and service to country. These free, new and reimagined air show events are part of the Mayor’s “Open Chicago” initiative to safely and fully reopen the city. Updates and details will be posted here throughout the summer.
