This Plan included a year-long community engagement process that reached over 800 community members and will provide a framework plan aimed at improving connections and services in Brighton Park and in Gage Park, on Chicago's Southwest Side. Stitching It Together provides recommendations covering various topics including housing, open space and neighborhood beautification, the public realm, health and environmental justice, economic development, and community programming. An informational presentation on the Major Taylor Trail Land Use Framework Plan and the Major Taylor Trail Consolidation Plan, two separate but complimentary plans. The Land Use Framework Plan focuses on catalyzing equitable development in the area around the trail from 104th Street to 125th Street, which includes Beverly, Morgan Park and West Pullman. The Consolidation Plan catalogs planned capital improvements and recommendations from all organizations involved in the operation of the Major Taylor Trail and will be used to track progress on trail improvements and guide inter-agency coordination.
