The Chicago Plan Commission granted Lake Michigan and Chicago Lakefront Ordinance approval of the project on April 21, 2016, therefore an exemption from the Lakefront Ordinance pursuant to Section 16-4-150 has been approved by the Zoning Administrator for the proposed amendment. |

A proposed Residential Planned Development, submitted by Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, for the property generally located at 5853 N. Broadway. The applicant is proposing to rezone the site from B1-2 (Neighborhood Shopping District) to a B2-5 (Neighborhood Mixed Use District) and then to a Residential Planned Development. The applicant proposes to construct an 11-story residential building not to exceed 128 feet, with up to 90 residential dwelling units and 14parking spaces. The maximum floor area ratio will be 5.0. |

79th Street Corridor Plan. The Plan is a collaborative effort led by the Department of Planning and Development and the Regional Transportation Authority to revitalize commercial activity along 79th Street between Ashland Avenue and Vincennes Avenue and down S Halsted Street from W 77th to W 83rd Street. Draft recommendations aim to optimize land use for local businesses and affordable housing, improve multi-modal transportation, and drive economic development along the 79th Street Corridor. The draft of the plan is available online at Chicago.gov/79th for public comment. |

The Armitage Industrial Corridor (AIC) is on Chicago’s northwest side, generally bounded by Grand Avenue (north), Oak Park Avenue (west), Cortland Street and Bloomingdale Avenue (south), and Cicero Avenue (east), including Planned Manufacturing District (PMD) 15. As part of the Industrial Corridor Modernization Initiative, the Department of Planning and Development launched a planning process in spring 2024 to assess the AIC’s effectiveness. This effort provided multiple opportunities for interested members of the business and residential community to collaborate with each other and the City in shaping a framework plan to guide future growth while allowing the AIC to adapt to changing market conditions. |

Moving Archer Forward is an upcoming planning initiative, led by the Department of Planning and Development, to vision for the future of Archer Avenue between S. Halsted Street and S. Cicero Avenue. Funded by a grant from the Regional Transportation Authority, Moving Archer Forward will focus on improved access to transit, equitable transit-oriented development, and future investment along this important corridor on the City's Southwest Side. |
