Every person who is given an offer of employment with the City of Chicago has to disclose any unpaid child support obligations they owe.

Municipal Ordinance 2-152-155 requires that every person who is given an offer of employment with the City of Chicago shall file an 'Affidavit of Child Support Obligations' disclosing any unpaid child support obligations they owe.

All employees of the City of Chicago have an obligation to abide by the rules established regarding the payment of debts to the city.

Under a provision to Human Resources Rule XVIII, city employees must promptly pay all debts owed to the city, including parking tickets, water bills, vehicle stickers, taxes and fines, or face disciplinary action, which may include dismissal.
