Mayor-elect Emanuel Congratulates Simeon Wolverines Boys Basketball Team on State Championship Win

Mayor-elect Emanuel issued the following statement this morning:

"Congratulations to the Simeon Wolverines boys basketball team and Coach Robert Smith on their Class 4A State Championship win. All season, the Wolverines hard work and energy both on the court and in the classroom has been inspiring and earned them a well-deserved place in history as the only Chicago high school to win five state championship titles. The excellence these students strive to achieve in athletics and in academics makes Chicago proud."
