Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Medix President and CEO Andrew Limouris announced today that Medix will add up to 150 new jobs in Chicago and relocate its headquarters to 222 South Riverside Plaza in the West Loop. The company, a national organization specialized in workforce solutions and recruiting skilled personnel, will move nearly 100 jobs from its current headquarters in Lombard, IL, and hire an addition 50 positions over the next two years. Medix is the 28th company to move its headquarters to Chicago since Mayor Emanuel took office in 2011.

“Chicago is a city on the move with a great future ahead, and that is what Medix saw when the company decided to bypass a move to another state completely, to locate here in Chicago,” said Mayor Emanuel. “They saw the work we are doing to strengthen our already thriving healthcare economy, building an incomparable pool of talent, and infrastructure that is continually being invested in, and knew that the Chicago of today is just a glimmer of the city we are building for tomorrow.”

By the end of 2016, Medix has projected its internal team in Illinois to grow from 90 employees to 140 because of the headquarters relocation. Medix will still keep an office in Lombard to continue to meet the workforce needs of its suburban clients. Medix expects its new Chicago headquarters to open in March 2015.

“Last year, we realized our headquarters needed to be held in the right city to scale our business,” said Andrew Limouris, President and CEO of Medix. “After exploring various cities across the country for relocation, we recognized the abundant possibilities to create opportunity in our backyard. At Medix, we stand firmly behind our core purpose of positively impacting the lives of our talent, clients and internal team through employment and creating opportunity. We see this move as not simply a relocation, but an opportunity to take our efforts to positively impact lives to the next level. Thanks to the collaboration with Mayor Emanuel and the State of Illinois, we are officially moving our headquarters to Chicago.”
