Mayor Rahm Emanuel joined XSELL Technologies today to announce XSELL’s commitment to expand its workforce in Chicago, adding to the growing list of tech companies adding jobs or relocating HQ operations to Chicago. XSELL Technologies, located in the West Loop, plans to hire more than 500 employees in its Chicago office over the next three years.

"XSELL is the fifth technology company in three months to announce plans to add hundreds of jobs to Chicago’s growing tech sector,” said Mayor Emanuel.  “Chicago's tech scene has grown tremendously over the past several years because of our deep talent pool, global connectivity, world-class infrastructure, affordability and amazing quality of life.  XSELL’s commitment to hiring and fostering the next generation of technologists in Chicago will advance our technology ecosystem for many years to come."

Founded in 2014, XSELL Technologies provides a leading-edge augmented intelligence and digital engagement platform that supercharges sales agents through chat, messaging, and phone. XSELL helps companies effectively answer consumer inquiries and make personalized recommendations – thereby removing painful interactions, enriching the digital experience and propagating expertise. XSELL’s AI platform for dialogue produces recommended responses for tens of millions of interactions across organizations in the healthcare, retail, financial services and telecom industries.

“We are thrilled to be an important part of Chicago’s emergence as an epicenter of advancement in technology. Chicago is well supported by leading academic organizations and has momentum from leaders to create smart policies so businesses like ours want to invest in the future. I am most proud of our team and the wide-array of jobs we are producing - which range from data labelers to ontologists from engineers to PhD-level data scientists. We have spots on the XSELL bus for passionate teammates who are looking to write the best chapter of their career” said Matt Coughlin, CEO of XSELL Technologies.

“Chicago has the best talent in the world for our business” added Brendan Downing, President of XSELL. “No other city possesses the same level of emotional intelligence and technology abilities that allow our team to better understand consumers around the world. Leveraging this empathy and perspective, we can most effectively shape the dialogues between consumers and companies around the globe to drive for a more robust consumer experience. Let’s face it, if the world had a bit more Midwest sensibility in consumer sales and service conversations, we’d all be better for it.”

XSELL’s announcement follows recent tech company expansions or HQ relocations from Google, Tegus, DocuSign, and BlueCrew, demonstrating the continued growth of Chicago’s robust tech and innovation economy.

“By adding 500 new jobs to Chicago’s economy, XSELL is showing their commitment to our city and demonstrating why tech companies continue to choose Chicago as the place to locate and expand,” said Andrea Zopp, president and CEO of World Business Chicago. “Tech companies thrive in Chicago because we continue to foster a supportive environment of innovation.”

XSELL joins a list of over 80 technology companies who have relocated to Chicago or grown their footprint in Chicago since 2011. On March 4, Site Selection magazine named Chicago the top metro area in the nation for corporate relocation and investment for the sixth consecutive year.
