A proposed Business Planned Development and Lake Michigan and Chicago Lakefront Protection Ordinance application, submitted by Aquinnah Investment Trust, for the property generally located at 6402-6420 S. Stony Island Avenue. The applicant is proposing to rezone the site from B3-5 (Community Shopping District) to a Business Planned Development. The applicant proposes to construct a 26-story, 303’-8” tall hotel consisting of 250 hotel rooms and accessory uses including retail, office, hotel support uses, and 118 accessory parking spaces. The maximum floor area ratio of the planned development will be 5.0.

1500–1509 E. 59th St. and 1550–1559 E. 60th St.

A proposed renovation of an existing Metra station submitted by Metra, for the property generally located at 1500–1509 E. 59th Street and 1550–1559 E. 60th Street. The applicant proposes renovating the 59th and 60th Street station, remove and replace the existing headhouses, build new warming houses, reconstruct the ground-level depots with enlarged waiting areas, new stairs and elevators to make the stations compliant with ADA requirements. The subject site is located within the Private Lakefront Protection District.

A resolution seeking the adoption of the Major Taylor Trail Land Use Framework Plan.  The Plan focuses on catalyzing equitable development in the area around the Major Taylor Trail from 104th Street to 125th Street, which includes the community areas of Beverly, Morgan Park and West Pullman.  With community engagement and input, the plan identifies opportunities for redevelopment and reinvestment, outlines a vision and set of goals for land use in the Study Area and promotes Equitable Transit Oriented Development (eTOD) along the Trail, CTA Bus, a newly planned Pace Pulse Route on Halsted Street and the building of the CTA Red Line Extension just east of the Trail. A resolution seeking the adoption of the Major Taylor Trail Consolidation Plan.  The Consolidation Plan catalogs planned capital improvements and recommendations from all organizations involved in the operation of the Major Taylor Trail and will be used to track progress on trail improvements and guide inter-agency coordination. Outlining a common vision for the trail and its surrounding public spaces, this document aims to clarify the strategies, responsible parties, and steps needed to help the trail meet its potential as a South Side community asset and regional attraction.
