Chicago is With You Taskforce
“The Chicago is With You Task Force is committed to the values of the Welcoming City Ordinance and strives to work among a diverse set of stakeholders to serve immigrants, migrant, and refugees.”
History
The Task Force was established in 2016 to strengthen collaboration around mental health, legal services, employer diversity training, and education—ensuring the City delivers comprehensive, equitable services to immigrants, refugees, and other historically marginalized communities.
Today, the CWY Task Force is chaired by City Clerk Anna Valencia and includes representatives from city departments, sister agencies, community-based organizations, immigrant-serving groups, and other key stakeholders committed to uplifting immigrant communities across Chicago.
In February 2025, the Task Force launched four subcommittees to address emerging priorities: Change the Narrative, Business Engagement, Mental Health, and Funding.
