The City of Chicago is currently in Phase Four: "Gradually Resume." Many City services have adjusted hours or locations and may require health screens prior to entering their physical spaces. As part of our larger effort to streamline processes and requirements at the Chicago Department of Buildings, as of September 6, 2017, building registrations for Multiple Dwellings are no longer required. With new technologies available, there are other means and methods for collecting ownership information.
Please note that if you have sent a check to the Department of Buildings and it has not yet been processed, we will send the check back with a letter of explanation so building owners and property managers may have for their records.
