Building Tours reveal the storied history of the landmark Chicago Cultural Center – offered year round on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 1:15pm. Tours are FREE and led by volunteer docents.

Schedule of tours for Visitors who are Blind or have Low Vision will take place at the Chicago Cultural Center at 1:15pm:

Chicago Architecture Biennial Tours:

 

Public Tours

Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 25, free one-hour tours will be offered each week for the duration of the Biennial. Guides will provide a brief overview of the main exhibition areas and highlights within the Chicago Cultural Center.

  • Wednesday & Thursday: 5–6pm
  • Friday & Saturday: 11am–12pm

 

Private Tours

To request a private tour of the Chicago Architecture Biennial at the Chicago Cultural Center, please register your group of 10 or more in advance using the online registration form.

Guided Tours for School Groups

Tuesdays–Fridays, October 1December 20

CAB will offer 90-minute guided tours of the Biennial, Tuesday through Friday, between October 1 and December 20 for school groups with students in grades 5–12. Free buses will be provided to qualifying schools on a first come first serve basis. The Biennial will also provide a welcome and guidebook to teachers wishing to lead a self-guided tour of the Biennial. Field trip sign up will begin in mid-august at chicagoarchitecturebiennial.org/learn. If you would like to receive a notification when field trip sign up has opened, please email education@chicagoarchitecturebiennial.org.

 

Public Group Tours:

  • Free guided tours of the building
  • Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (year-round)
  • 1:15pm
  • Tours are 4560 minutes long
  • Tour may be limited to 25 guests to arrive
  • No advance registration required
 

Private Group Tours:

  • Free guided tours of the building
  • By appointment on Fridays only at 10:30am or 2:30pm, pending availability
  • Designed for adults, 13 years and older
  • Tours are 4560 minutes long
  • For groups of 15–30 people, smaller groups may be combined with another group if needed.
  • Book four to six weeks in advance, by completing this request form
 

Exhibition Exploration:

  • Free guided exploration of exhibitions and the Chicago Cultural Center, Learning Lab and Millennium Park!

For Elementary and High School students

  • Tuesdays & Thursdays
  • 10am12:30pm
  • 2 groups per day maximum 30 students in each group
  • Fill out the online request form for each group or class
  • Please note whether you are interested in Exhibition Exploration or History and Architecture
  • Book four to six weeks in advance
  • Confirmation within 5 business days
 

Note:

  • All tours are led by trained volunteer docents and/or staff
  • All tours begin in the Welcome Center
