The Armitage Industrial Corridor is on Chicago’s northwest side, generally bounded by Grand Avenue (north), Oak Park Avenue (west), Cortland Street and Bloomingdale Avenue (south), and Cicero Avenue (east), including Planned Manufacturing District (PMD) 15. Created in collaboration with more than 200 business and community representatives and elected officials, the draft framework provides goals and strategies to support the corridor as a vital job center, enhance infrastructure to improve mobility, safety and sustainability, preserve the corridors historic identity, and improve communication between businesses and the community. An informational presentation on the Cicero Avenue Land Use Study. The study area is a 2.75-mile stretch of North Cicero Avenue from Irving Park Road to the Grand/Cicero Metra station in the Portage Park and Belmont Cragin community areas. This study, led by the Department of Planning and Development, will better understand the existing conditions along the Cicero Avenue corridor and ultimately create a vision for future land use based on input received from community partners, business owners, residents, and elected officials. |
