The Department of Procurement Services (“DPS”) is the contracting authority for the procurement of goods and services for the City of Chicago. DPS also administers the certification of Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises, Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprises and Business Enterprises owned or operated by People with Disabilities. DPS monitors contract compliance, and also facilitates the sale of the City’s surplus equipment and scrap through the Online Surplus Auction Program. Most of the FOIA requests received by the Department of Procurement Services (DPS) ask for information that is available on the DPS website. Before you make a FOIA request, please search the DPS website to save yourself time and money. The City charges for any copies that exceed 50 pages.
