Small Residential Buildings Code Workshop

On August 13, 2019, the Department of Buildings and Homebuilders Association of Greater Chicago hosted a workshop that covered the key changes for new construction of small residential buildings in the modernized Chicago Building Code. Lew Wilson, Principal Emeritus of Sullivan, Goulette & Wilson Architects and chair of the small residential committee of the code rewrite and Carl Baldassarra, a Principal at Wiss, Janney Elstner and Associates in Northbrook, Illinois, who led the Fire Life & Safety Committee, joined Deputy Commissioner Grant Ullrich to highlight the ways in which the new code will change code requirements for small residential buildings.
