South Shore community stakeholders interested in the future of 75th and 79th streets are invited to attend an open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, in the cafeteria of South Shore International College Preparatory High School, 1955 E. 75th St.

Co-hosted by the Department of Planning and Development, the Regional Transportation Authority and Ald. Gregory Mitchell (7th), the open house will provide a forum for residents and business owners to learn about the South Shore Corridor Study, which aims to improve connections between public transportation along 75th and 79th streets and local retail and housing opportunities.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more and provide input about the study’s goals and processes, neighborhood demographics, and potential improvements. Announced in December 2018, the study is expected to be completed by early 2020.
