Senior Food Box Program RFP
The Senior Food Box Program RFP seeks proposals from qualified food service providers who have experience providing monthly delivery of fresh produce, pantry staples, and frozen meat options for older adults age 60+, their caregivers, and grandparents or older relatives 55+ raising children or persons with disabilities. DFSS seeks to provide services through delegate agencies in three (3) regional community areas (North, South, and West) across the city.
The goals of Senior Food Box Program are to:
- Reduce risk for food insecurity for older adults, caregivers, and grandparents or older adults raising children or adults with disabilities by creating access to fresh produce and frozen meats
- Provide person-centered options for those who enjoy cooking
- Strengthen the ability of older adults, family / informal caregivers, and grandparents or older relatives to continue to remain or provide care at home
The selected Respondent(s) will provide Senior Food Boxes city-wide to ensure equitable access to all residents in (3) regional community areas (North, South, and West) across the city.
The term of contract(s) executed under this RFP will be from October 1, 2022 - September 30, 2024. Based on need, availability of funds and contractor performance, DFSS may extend this term for up to one year. Continued support will be dependent upon the Respondent’s performance and the continued availability of funding. Continued support will be dependent upon the selected Respondent’s performance and the continued availability of funding. This contract will operate on a reimbursement basis only. No advances will be given.
DFSS anticipates up to three delegate agencies will be awarded up to $214,815 per year depending on the size of their proposed program, a total two-year award of $429,630.
- North: $53,704 annually
- West: $70,889 annually
- South: $90,222 annually

A note about the City’s eProcurement System:

Current contractors need only to start an application via their existing iSupplier/eProcurement account.
All vendors must have a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) and an IRS W9 for registration and confirmation of vendor business information.
