Reading My Meter

Reading My Meter

Actual Reading: Depending on the type of meter installed at your premises, your meter may be read in-person by a water rate taker who made need to gain access into your premise, by a remote devise or a reading transmitted via radio to a Chicago Department of Water van, without us having to enter your home.

Estimated Reading: Occasionally, we are unable to access and/or read your meter. When this occurs, your bill is estimated based on the amount of water used in previous months.   Any difference between the estimated bill and the next actual reading will be adjusted and reflected on your billing statement.

Customer Reading:  You can verify the meter reading information on your billing statement, by reading your own meter. The reading in the example below is 94838:

(THIS IS A FAKE METER – WE NEED A CITY OF CHICAGO METER EXAMPLE  NOT SURE IF THIS IS DOABLE WITH THE VARIETY OF METERS WE HAVE.
