DESCRIPTION: Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS),
[Community Based Operator for DFSS Satellite Senior Centers ]
The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) seeks to identify qualified community-based organizations to carry out the programs and services of the DFSS Senior Services Division, as designated by the Older Americans Act, at the Department of Family and Support Services Senior Services Division fifteen (15) Satellite Senior Center locations. With the mission of supporting older adults to live independently in their own homes and communities for as long as possible, DFSS Satellite Senior Centers provide a wide range of programs and services that helps older adults (55+) to socially engage, remain active, stay informed about available programs and resources as they age in place. Each Satellite Senior Center is assigned to a geographic regional area and has a lead Regional Senior Center that serves as the coordinating senior center location for the regional area.
The term of contract(s) executed under this RFP will be from January 1, 2026 – December 31, 2028. Based on need, availability of funds and contractor performance, DFSS may extend this term for up to one additional year. Continued support will be dependent upon the selected Respondent’s performance and the continued availability of funding. We anticipate that each individual Satellite Senior Center award will be $80,000 annually depending on the availability of funding. The total award amount is $1.2 million. DFSS anticipates funding up to fifteen agencies. This contract will operate on a reimbursement basis only. No advances will be given.
This initiative is administered by DFSS through City of Chicago Corporate funds. Consequently, all guidelines and requirements of DFSS must be met. Additionally, all delegate agencies must comply with the Single Audit Act if applicable.
