DESCRIPTION:  Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS),

Youth Services, My CHI. My Future. Year- Round Safe Spaces for Youth RFP

The Department of Family and Support Services (DFSS) seeks to fund community-based organizations to deliver the My CHI. My Future. (MCMF) Year-Round Safe Spaces for Youth initiative, a series of fun and safe events for youth (ages 13-19) and their families in 15 regions across the city that will ensure local youth have meaningful and safe out-of-school time opportunities. The MCMF Year-Round Safe Spaces for Youth Request for Proposals (RFP) seeks to provide funding to delegate agencies with experience in 1) managing youth development programming and leveraging community participation and 2) implementing subsidized youth employment programs for young people ages 16-24 in Chicago. The MCMF Year-Round Safe Spaces for Youth initiative will strengthen healthy community ecosystems for young people and their families through enriching, community-based out-of-school time activities. The youth employment component for older youth (ages 16-24) will help young people increase their self-efficacy and gain work experiences and skills needed to succeed in today’s and future economies.

This RFP seeks respondents that can serve at least one of the 15 MCMF targeted regions of the city; collaborative applications are strongly encouraged. Respondents can only apply for a region in which they can demonstrate a physical address.

The term of contract(s) executed under this RFP will be from January 15, 2023 – December 31, 2024. This initiative is administered by DFSS through American Rescue Plan Act funds. The total funding available for this program is $2,600,865 per year. Every selected agency will be eligible for equal funding of $173,391 per year to employ youth and administer the event series, including personnel, program, and indirect costs (capped at 15%).
