About the Conference

Conference Objectives

  • Educate on Lead Risks: Raise awareness about updated lead thresholds (3.5 mcg/dL), the health impacts of lead exposure, and available grant resources.
  • Collaborate with Stakeholders: Strengthen partnerships across CDPH, CDC, HUD, ICAAP, IDPH, healthcare providers, city/state agencies, and early learning organizations.
  • Innovation: Showcase partnerships, new technologies, and policies that support child health and lead abatement.
  • Engage the Community: Promote increased testing, prevention strategies, and practical tools for safer homes.

The conference will highlight recent updates from CDPH’s Lead Poisoning Prevention and Healthy Homes Programs, emphasizing a holistic, early-learning-focused approach to healthy housing. Expect a dynamic, interactive event featuring expert speakers, resource exhibits, and real-world tools to take back to your communities.

Kick off the morning with a powerful panel discussion featuring a parent, doctor, case manager, nurse, and building inspector. Together, they’ll walk us through the lead abatement and healthy homes journey from every angle, medical, personal, and professional.
