COVID-19 Resources

Federal health officials now recommend that people ages 65 and older should receive one additional dose of the updated 2023-2024 COVID-19 vaccine. The recommendation is based on evidence that older adults are at greatest risk of serious illness or hospitalization if they get COVID-19 and therefore additional protection is warranted. The additional dose is to be administered at least 4 months following the initial dose of the vaccine that was released in Fall 2023. The vaccine, which was designed to target circulating variants in 2023-24, is still widely available at pharmacies and medical clinics.

Everyone 6 months and up is encouraged to get an updated COVID vaccine.

Protect Yourself from Respiratory Illness This Season

Heading into fall and winter, when we typically see increases in viral respiratory infections, it is important that all Chicagoans stay up-to-date on vaccinations – including COVID-19, flu and RSV.

Who Should Get Vaccinated?

  • Everyone 6 months and older should get a NEW updated COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Everyone 6 months and older should get an annual flu shot.
  • For adults age 60+, pregnant, or parents of an infant, check with your doctor to determine if an RSV vaccine is right for you or your child.
