CDPH Provides Protect Chicago 77 Update

74.3% of Chicagoans 12+ have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine

 

CHICAGO – The Chicago Department of Public Health today reported progress toward the goal of having at least 77 percent of all Chicago residents ages 12 and up starting their COVID-19 vaccination series by the end of the year as part of Protect Chicago 77

                                              

According to the data reported through October 16, more than 1.7 million – or 74.3 percent – of Chicagoans age 12 and up have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

 

Over the past week:

 

  • Logan Square reached 77% in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+)
  • Beverly, Edison Park, Hyde Park, and West Ridge reached 80% in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+)
  • East Garfield Park had the biggest increase in 1stdose vaccine coverage (ages 12+) since last week

 

Protect Chicago 77 is designed to engage people in all of the city’s 77 designated community areas to get vaccinated and encourage others to do so. All Chicagoans are encouraged to take the Protect Chicago 77 pledge, promising to do their part to Protect Chicago and help the city recover from the pandemic.
